Bomin Khan Statue

Until 1983, the statue of Bominkaung was located on the eastern side of the Shwedagon Pagoda platform, near the Four-Pillar Pavilion, close to the elephant statue and the Kyauk Hti Pagodas. However, as worshippers had to face away from the Shwedagon Pagoda when venerating the statue, the trustees initially moved it to the central area. Later, it was relocated to its current location at the Sunday planetary post. Before 1999, the statue stood uncovered in an open space. It was later housed in a glass approximately 4 feet high, with a small 4-inch high kneeling bench in front of it for worshippers.
