The Most Venerable Koṇāgamaṇa Buddha Image located in the Gandhakuṭi building within the Southern Prayer Hall of the Shwedagon Pagoda, is a statue made from five metals: gold, silver, copper, lead, and iron, forming what is known as a "Pañcalohā" image.
This image was donated by King Sin Ku, the son of King Sin Phyu Shin, in the year 1140 of the Myanmar calendar. It represents the Bhūmiphassa mudrā (earth-touching gesture).
Of the four Buddhas who attained enlightenment in this Bhadda Kappa, the "Most Venerable Koṇāgamaṇa Buddha" was the second to do so. The Koṇāgamaṇa Buddha's relic water filter is enshrined in the main enshrinement-room of the Shwedagon Pagoda.
