In 1312 (ME), Daw Ngwe Zin constructed and donated this pavilion. It became known as the Ye Kyi Taw Association Pavilion because it housed the Ye Kyi Taw Association. During the 1995-96 renovations on the eastern tier, it was found that the pavilion did not fit well with the overall view from the main area leading to the large stupa. Consequently, the committee responsible for the eastern tier’s renovation decided to refurbish it. The first phase involved restoring the traditional Myanmar designs on the pavilion’s eastern rear view, costing 2.74 million kyats. In the 1999 comprehensive renovation plan, the pavilion’s coverings were removed, the floors were polished, and the rear protective brick wall was demolished. The deteriorating reinforced concrete roof was replaced with a new one, costing 3.22 million kyats, funded by the board of pagoda trustees.
