Panpoot is the art of making beauty using lacquered wood utensils. It can be found in various trays, tea leaf boxes, alms bowls, wood carving from bullock cart wheels; white umbrellas, golden umbrella handles. In addition, the raw materials shaped by sculpture are polished to make them smooth and shiny. You can see polished wooden banisters at the bottom of the southern stairway of Shwedagon Pagoda.
