There are two Pyi Taw Pyan Buddha images on the Shwedagon Pagoda platform, one at the Sunday corner and another at the Tuesday corner.
1. The Pyi Taw Pyan Buddha image at the Sunday corner is housed in a pavilion donated by U Thukha and Daw Mi from Kanaungto in 1269 M.E. The pavilion was constructed over a brick structure. During the British colonial period, the image was taken to England and later returned to Myanmar, earning it the name “Pyi Taw Pyan” (Returned Buddha).
2. The Pyi Taw Pyan Buddha image at the Tuesday corner was donated by U Chein Kan and Daw Kyi, who sold rice and curry on a upper ceuerice tract of boat.
