The Ta Kun Tai at the Tuesday corner of the Shwedagon Pagoda was donated around 1924 by U Hmaw and his wife Daw Lay, residing at No. 2, Kyaunggyi Lane, Kyi Myin Taing Township. It is an octagonal brick post surrounded by glass tiles and situated next to the Kalyārṇa Pāramī Stairway (U Ba Aye and Daw Saw Tin pavilion (stairway). The top features a haṁsa bird, and at the base, there is a niche housing a wooden Buddha statue and two stone Buddha images known as Bhilat Pyan Buddha which is literally known as Buddha images brought back from England.
