The tiger and lion statues inside the Dhammaceti Shrine were donated by King Dhammaceti in the year 847 of the Myanmar Era. Three equally-sized Buddha images are placed on a single throne (Pallinka), and beneath them are statues of a tiger and a lion. Due to the presence of these statues, the saying “When the lion and tiger unite, the fire burns three times, and one will reach Nibbāna” symbolizes the Aggiyat way, believed to represent purification. It is also believed that King Dhammaceti’s strong determination is connected to this shrine, and those who make vows there are believed to achieve success.
